Turns out you can't keep a builder away from his tools. Three years after selling Charles Window & Door - my pride and joy of 17 years - I discovered something funny: I'm terrible at retirement. Like, really terrible.

The phone kept ringing with calls from old clients, and saying "no" started to feel like turning away friends. That's when Joel, one of my most trusted crew leaders, and I hatched a plan. Why fight it? We decided to get back in the game, but this time, on our own terms.

I'll let you in on a secret - during my so-called "retirement," I never really stopped. I kept taking on projects for family, friends, and those persistent past customers who wouldn't take no for an answer. You'll see some of these projects scattered throughout the website. Fair warning: the photos aren't those glossy, magazine-worthy shots you might expect. Most were snapped after families had already moved in and made these spaces their own. But honestly? That's what makes them real.

We've also sprinkled in some words from our customers throughout the site. Not because we had to, but because their stories tell you more about who we are than any sales pitch ever could.

This time around, we're doing things differently. Instead of taking on everything under the sun, we're focusing on those essential home projects that make daily life better - the bathroom that needs refreshing, the kitchen crying out for an update, the addition you've been dreaming about, or that outdoor space begging to be transformed. And since James Hardie siding had been our bread and butter for years (we were a Premier Contractor, after all), we're still offering those services too.

Here's our pitch: we're a small team that believes in fair prices and picking up the phone when you call. No corporate maze to navigate, no salespeople to dodge - just straight talk about getting your project done right.
